Where processing is based on legitimate interests, those interests include operating and securing the Website, responding to professional inquiries, improving content and usability, maintaining business relationships, preventing fraud and abuse, and protecting legal rights. We assess these interests against the rights and reasonable expectations of individuals. Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

We do not use Website data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Website uses cookies, local storage, pixels, scripts and similar technologies. Some are placed by Connected Ops; others may be provided by service providers. Under EU ePrivacy rules and Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), consent is generally required before information is stored on, or read from, a visitor’s device unless the operation is strictly necessary to provide a digital service expressly requested by the visitor.
CategoryPurposeDefaultEEA/Germany basis
EssentialSecurity, network delivery, core navigation and storage of consent choicesAlways active where strictly necessaryNo consent where the technology is strictly necessary; related processing relies on legitimate interests or legal obligation

Your cookie choices
On the first visit, the consent interface should provide equally accessible choices to accept all, reject non-essential technologies, or save granular preferences. Functional and Performance technologies remain disabled until consent where required. You can later use “Manage Cookies” in the Website footer to change or withdraw choices. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent.

The current consent center lists the exact cookie or technology name, provider, purpose and retention period in use at the time of your visit. Those operational details form part of this cookie notice. Connected Ops will update the consent center before activating a new non-essential technology. Browser controls can also block or delete cookies, although strictly necessary Website features may then function differently.

Where supported and legally required, we will treat a recognized browser-based opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of applicable sale, sharing or targeted advertising. The Website is not intended to sell personal data or use Website data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. When we share personal data

We may disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary to:
  • Connected Ops LLC, Connected Ops GmbH and authorized personnel who need the information for the purposes described in this policy;
  • hosting, content delivery, cybersecurity, communications, customer relationship, analytics, consent-management, recruitment, professional advisory and other service providers acting under appropriate contractual restrictions;
  • business partners or public-sector contacts when you ask us to make an introduction or when disclosure is necessary to pursue a clearly identified request, subject to applicable law;
  • law enforcement, regulators, courts or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, systems and users; and
  • a buyer, investor, lender, adviser or successor in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
We do not sell Website personal data for money. If our practices change in a way that legally constitutes a sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising, we will provide the notices and choices required before that change applies.

6. International data transfers

Connected Ops operates in the United States and Germany. Information handled by Connected Ops GmbH may be transferred to Connected Ops LLC or service providers outside the EEA. Where required, Connected Ops uses an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with any necessary supplementary measures, or another lawful derogation or safeguard. Transfers to a U.S. recipient certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework may rely on the applicable adequacy decision. A copy or description of the relevant safeguards may be requested through info@connectedops.com, subject to protection of confidential information.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, taking account of legal duties, security needs, disputes, limitation periods and the relationship with the individual. Typical criteria are:
Record typeTypical retention approach
Security and server logsNormally 30 to 90 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate an incident, prevent abuse or comply with law.
General inquiriesUp to 24 months after the last substantive interaction, unless the inquiry leads to a contract or a longer period is needed for legal claims.
Marketing recordsUntil consent is withdrawn or an objection is made; a minimal suppression record may be kept to respect the opt-out.
Recruitment recordsFor the recruitment process and normally up to 6 months afterward in Germany/EEA, or longer where required by law or separately consented to for a talent pool.
Cookie and consent recordsFor the duration shown in the cookie settings and as reasonably needed to document consent or withdrawal.
Backups may retain residual copies for a limited period under controlled deletion cycles. Data relevant to a dispute, investigation or legal obligation may be preserved for longer.

8. Security

Connected Ops uses administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss and destruction. Measures are selected according to risk and may include access controls, encryption in transit, system logging, network protections, secure development practices, backups, vendor review and workforce confidentiality requirements. No online transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your data-protection rights

Subject to applicable law and exceptions, individuals in the EEA and United Kingdom may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, data portability, or information about international safeguards; object to processing based on legitimate interests; object at any time to direct marketing; and withdraw consent. Individuals may also lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

For processing connected with Connected Ops GmbH, the lead local authority is generally the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA). You may instead complain to the authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.

Other U.S. state privacy laws may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. Connected Ops will honor verified requests to the extent required by the law applicable to the requester and will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising a privacy right.

How to exercise a right
Email info@connectedops.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and describe the right you wish to exercise. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify identity and authority. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, subject to verification. We aim to respond within the time required by applicable law; under the GDPR this is generally one month, subject to a permitted extension for complex requests. If we deny an appealable U.S. request, our response will explain any available appeal process.

10. Washington consumer health data

The Website is not designed to collect or infer consumer health data and Connected Ops does not intentionally collect, share or sell consumer health data through the Website for purposes governed by the Washington My Health My Data Act. Do not submit health information through general contact forms. If Website functionality changes to collect such data, Connected Ops will provide a separate consumer health data privacy policy and obtain any authorization or consent required before collection, sharing or sale.

11. Children

The Website is intended for business and government audiences and is not directed to children under 16. Connected Ops does not knowingly collect personal data from children through the Website. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so that we can assess and delete it where required.

12. Third-party sites and embedded content

The Website may link to third-party sites or, with consent where required, load third-party media or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Connected Ops is not responsible for a third party’s independent processing. Review the third party’s privacy information before providing data or enabling optional content.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, Website features or business operations. The revised policy will be posted with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.

14. Contact

Questions, complaints and privacy requests may be sent to info@connectedops.com. You may also write to Connected Ops LLC or Connected Ops GmbH at the addresses listed in Section 1.
